I am a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor with over 30 years of experience. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, but am also very experienced in treating depression, couples issues, ADHD, and alcohol and drug abuse.
I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University.
In addition to private practice, I have also worked with diverse problems in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, a Cleveland Clinic Family Health Center, a managed care mental health program, schools, a college counseling center, residential settings for the mentally handicapped, and the Veteran's Administration. Working with mentally handicapped individuals has deepened my beliefs that all, regardless of functioning, have the ability to grow and that all are deserving respect.
In 2007, I decided that I needed to become more active in my marketing efforts. I knew the place to begin was constructing a website and did so. Within 6 months, I began working on a major overhaul. I also began a blog.
Self-help is something in which I've always believed. My goal continues to be for people to get better as quickly as possible.
I became active on professional forums of internet marketing, where I learned a great deal. At the same time, I also did a number of Google searches on therapist marketing and read a number of books that might be relevant. I was surprised how little has been written. I found nothing for therapists on how to begin to establish a presence on the interet. As a result, I wrote an ebook "Establishing an Internet Presence for Therapists." The intent was for other therapists to learn from what I learned and more expeditiously establish their own internet presence. This will find will then help potential clients more easily find suitable therapists for their needs.
People are finding professionals more on the internet than through the Yellow Pages. Many small businesses have failed to establish any internet presence. This article explains how one can quickly begin a presence for free on the web.
